When choosing a pre-school, every parent wants to find the one that is just right for their child. Crannog na Leanai provides a warm and nurturing environment for children. We focus on educating the whole child balancing the development of their heads, hearts and hands. Learning is in an unhurried way, giving children the time to develop their self confidence. The kindergarten is a registered charity and runs on a not-for-profit basis.
Crannog na Leanai is a Steiner Waldorf Kindergarten – the only one of this kind in County Wexford. The school fosters in children a respect each other and for the environment around them. We work with children’s natural interest in the environment around them and outdoor play and learning is central to what we do. The aim of Steiner Waldorf education is to enable each child to fully develop their unique capacities. In the eighty years since it was first developed, Steiner Waldorf education has become the largest independent educational movement worldwide.
Crannog na Leanai offers pre-school education for children from three to six years of age. We participate in the Department of Children and Youth Affairs’ Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) scheme. For younger children we have a parent and toddler group on Friday mornings. Children come to the school from the local area, North County Wexford and from south County Wicklow. Parents are encouraged to contact Cathy Lee, Kindergarten Leader to arrange a visit to the school and see what we have to offer.
